Abstract

This article comprehensively analyzes the role and importance of commercial banks in financing environmental projects. In the context of global climate change, environmental degradation and sustainable development goals, the introduction of "green finance" mechanisms is becoming an important area of ​​activity for commercial banks. The research examines bank loans, green bonds, sustainable financial instruments, and mechanisms for cooperation with international financial institutions in financing environmental projects. It also covers the role of commercial banks in managing environmental risks and the integration of ESG principles into credit policy. The article analyzes the experience of Uzbek commercial banks and develops scientific and practical proposals and recommendations for expanding financing of environmental projects. The results of the research serve to strengthen the principles of the green economy in the banking and financial system.
